Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that he is ready to make peace with Jose Mourinho ahead of clash with Manchester United.

The French boss has had a bitter rivalry with Mourinho since 2004, when the 57-year-old arrived at Chelsea for his first stint at the Stamford Bridge. The pair came close to blows during the height of their feud as Arsenal succumbed to Chelsea’s power much to the dismay of Emirates faithfuls.

Ahead of their clash next Sunday, Arsene Wenger revealed: “I am always open for peace and I think I try to respect everybody.

“I don’t want to make a special case of any person but when you are a competitor it is important to give absolutely everything to win the next game and forget all the rest.”

When asked the spate of injuries in United squad, the Gunners boss said: “Manchester United have a massive squad with quality players. No matter who plays, they will have a strong team out.

“Every Premier League club is now equipped to deal with injuries. There are top players on the bench at every single club.

“A hectic schedule at this stage of the season is normally what you want because it shows that you are still involved in the competitions, so I am not going to speculate on any weakness of Manchester United.”
